After a boisterous New Year's Eve celebration, light exercise is just the thing to get you back on your feet!
On 1 January, you may still recognise one or two costumes from the New Year's Eve run the day before.
The 4 km route from the Brandenburg Gate to Berlin Cathedral and back is an easy start to the coming sports season. Our flag runners keep the pace slow for all participants. This ensures that the first run of the year will be a memorable one. If the Berlin New Year's Run route is too short for you, the Tiergarten is open for additional kilometres.
As the organiser of the Berlin New Year's Run, SCC EVENTS is happy to waive participation fees. Donations from runners for charitable causes are very welcome! The starting signal will be given by an ambassador from the Björn Schulz Foundation.

Donations instead of participation fees: the Berlin New Year's Run embraces the spirit of charity
This year's donations will go to Sonnenhof: Hospice for Children, Adolescents and Young Adults run by the Björn Schulz Foundation in Berlin.
Since 1996, the Björn Schulz Foundation has been supporting, strengthening and relieving families with children suffering from life-shortening illnesses: with the Sonnenhof hospice, the Irmengard-Hof aftercare and convalescent home on Lake Chiemsee, and various outpatient services in Berlin and Brandenburg.
This allows families to spend the remaining time together with their sick child and healthy siblings in a safe and secure environment. Learn more about that in our article “Traditionally for a good cause at the Berlin New Year's Run”.

Athletes are happy to help with the run at the Brandenburg Gate!
Since 2013, we have been able to raise over €75,000 for the Björn Schulz Foundation together with the participants of the Berlin New Year's Run.
For those who cannot be there on New Year's Day or who will be participating in the New Year's Run without cash, we have launched an online fundraising campaign on the Björn Schulz Foundation website.
We look forward to receiving numerous donations from the running community – no matter where you are on New Year's Day!
